We've got to talk about one of the strangest books I've ever read. I mean, I read murder mysteries. I read suspense. I read about killings and kidnappings. Weird. This book was so weird. So let's get into it!

Hey, it's Kyla Denanyoh. Today, we are talking about all kinds of weird books. Today, we're discussing the book You Shouldn't Have Come Here. Jeneva Rose is the author of this fiction with a suspense thriller theme.

Listen, y'all, I am Team Jeneva Rose. I have two other book reviews of hers. I also read this other book about being a girl, but didn't even review it.

This one was weird. This one was so weird, I had to read it twice. So I read it once. I'm reading it, and I'm like, ok, Grace, what's going on here? I'm like, oh, is it gonna be a love story, even though it's a thriller? What's gonna happen? Is she gonna get with Calvin? Oh, cute, he has a little crush on her. Now there's a missing person. So then, oh, and what else is gonna happen? Oh, did you fall into a pit of elk? Like, ok, and so, but he's gonna call, and they'll take care of that. And then there's a cougar? Where were you going? Grace, where were you going?

It would not wrap up, and I was just like, did she set up the elk path? Did she call the cougar? Oh no, no, no, no, it has to be Charlotte. Charlotte is trying to get Grace out of there. Charlotte is setting this whole thing up, and we never find out. Oh, okay, so Calvin did it. He was planting all these little seeds, and we never found out. There were so many gaps.

It was really surprising, and it was very anti-Jeneva Rose. I'm reading it, and I'm like, ok, you got the gas station attendant, and he had to kill him? And so then, to kill for the enjoyment of killing was fresh and new for a woman. I've read other books about female killers, but usually, they're like contract killers that are spies or something like that, so to kill just because you enjoy killing? That can be fine, but there were so many holes and gaps. Like, so you were the Danzel in distress, so people wouldn't know you would be taking out all these people? And then it was a lot, and it was a lot.

Even thinking about Joe and Charlotte and the house catching fire, and how that played in, why was there the Wyatt-Charlotte storyline? Well, I get that that was so that Charlotte would be jealous and try to take out Grace. But it was a lot.

Then to find out that you connected with somebody else who's also just a serial killer.

Even as I'm recounting this, it sounds exciting, so I hope I am making you want to read the book. I have not given away all of the spoilers, but I will say that of all the thrillers I've read, there were a lot of questions for me. There were a lot of gaps and holes in the story, and I didn't know who to trust or who to believe, and I guess that's why it's a thriller. I'm not quite sure.

So would I reread the book You Shouldn't Have Come Here? I got to say yes because I've already read it twice. I read it once. I wanted to do the book review. I was spinning. I read it a second time. Now I'm doing the book review. So yes, I would reread it because I'm still going to wonder about Grace. I'm gonna wonder what was up with Calvin. Did he kill the chickens on purpose? I'm gonna wonder. And so yeah, I would reread it. It's probably a book you need to take on vacation, and you need to read it and not do anything else, and digest every word.

So, if this book sounds interesting to you, trust me, it was a page-turner because it was a whodunit, right I'm waiting to find out if Betty was just killing everyone or if Charlotte had this huge crush and had to take them out and that is a spoiler because it wasn't either of them. And you're just like, ok? I mean, it was suspenseful. It was thrilling. So it met those criteria, but it was really surprising to me from Jeneva Rose because I love her other stuff.

Until the next book review,

Kyla

The book review was really engaging because it explains the suspense and uneasy feeling the story creates through its characters and setting. It reminded me of a time when I was reading thrillers during exam week and struggling to balance study time with personal interests. I used hire expert for online course help during that period so I could manage deadlines without giving up time for reading. It showed me how balance makes stressful weeks easier to handle.

The book review article was really interesting because it explains the story’s tone, themes, and emotional depth in a way that makes you think about character choices and plot twists. It reminded me of a time when I was reading multiple novels during a busy study schedule and trying to keep up with deadlines. I used take my online accounting course for me during that period so I could manage coursework while still enjoying reading. It showed me how balance improves focus.

That review really captures the unsettling tone of the story and how tension builds in unexpected ways. I remember reading a similar thriller during exams and getting so distracted I almost wished someone could take my online class just so I could finish the book uninterrupted. It’s interesting how gripping narratives can pull us out of routine, and your breakdown highlights exactly why stories like this linger even after the last page.
