My name is Kyla Denanyoh
I’m an Ohioan, a lifelong bookworm, and a storyteller. I have childlike wonder, so I start a lot of projects and businesses.
I used to believe a law degree came with just one path. Silly me.
My career has led me from podcasting to publishing, public speaking, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Along the way, I’ve learned that curiosity is often more valuable than certainty and that the best opportunities begin with saying yes.
When I am not recording or speaking, you’ll find me with a hot cup of coffee, discovering new ways to tell stories with simplicity and humor.

August 2026: Hello there! How may I help you?
July 2026: Kyla Denanyoh became the Vice President of Public Relations for the Franklin 524 Toastmasters Club, a virtual and in-person club where she practices leadership skills and public speaking. Interested in becoming a better leader? Join Toastmasters.
April 2026: Kyla Denanyoh was the featured workshop speaker for the Buckeye Leadership Fellows at The Ohio State University, facilitating sessions about the value of risk-taking and personal branding for undergraduate students.
March 2026: Kyla Denanyoh was the featured workshop speaker at the 4th Annual Time & Change, Second-Year Scholars Conference at The Ohio State University, encouraging the students to embrace self-advocacy before, during, and after law school.

Kyla Denanyoh hosted an in-person Bold Podcaster Workshop and shared trainings, templates, and workshops to help aspiring podcasters launch their shows in 30 days.
2025
October 2025: Kyla Denanyoh was recognized with a Buckeyes Under 40 award for my work in marketing, media, and communication by The Ohio State University Black Alumni Society.
September 2025: Co-hosted by Kyla Denanyoh and Dom Torres, the Overanalyzed with Dom & Kyla podcast launched to share recaps of the Real Housewives reality TV series and discuss TV, films, and media culture. This is Kyla's first experience as a podcast co-host!
August 2025: Kyla Denanyoh launched Accomplished Creator under the KD Creative brand to focus on founder-led podcasts built on experience. Accomplished Creator enables business founders to create internal or public podcasts that share their experience and knowledge with diverse audiences.
March 2025: Kyla is featured as a writer for the American Bar Association's digital publication, Law Practice Today, with an article about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies not being one-size-fits-all and why law firms need to adopt policies that fit the true culture of their offices.
2024
December 2024: Kyla Denanyoh is featured as a small business owner in the Mahogany Columbus November/December 2024 magazine to discuss how I turn storytelling into strategy and why I began podcasting. Click here to read the article.
November 2024: Kyla is a guest speaker at the Business of Podcasting Conference about creating a remarkable podcast even if you have an unremarkable business.
October 2024: Kyla Denanyoh is a panel speaker at the Afros and Audio 7th Annual Podcast Conference, discussing essential strategies for aspiring podcasters.
2023
October 2023: Kyla Denanyoh is a featured speaker in the Law Office Practice class at Southern University Law Center, discussing self-advocacy and risk-taking.
February 2023: Kyla Denanyoh launched Skip the Boring Stuff, a podcast management company that produces podcasts and YouTube channels for existing creators.
2022
August 2022: After much demand, Kyla Denanyoh creates the You Are A Lawyer YouTube channel to expand the brand to a larger audience.
May 2022: Kyla launched the You Are A Lawyer newsletter to share updates about the podcast and share behind-the-scenes details as a podcast host and producer.
March 2022: Kyla Denanyoh created a YouTube channel to discuss soft skills for lawyers, podcasting advice, and discuss the 80+ books she reads every year.
2021
November 2021: Kyla Denanyoh launched KD Creative to help business owners attract better customers and attract advertisers through podcasting.
Kyla is a featured speaker at the Afros and Audio 3rd Podcast Conference and discussed the importance of batch recording for podcasters.
August 2021: Kyla Denanyoh is hired as a social media freelancer. I worked with personal finance coaches, children's book authors, and lawyers to:

2020
April 2020: Kyla Denanyoh launched the You Are A Lawyer podcast to promote risk-taking lawyers with extraordinary lives, cool hobbies, and exciting career changes.
January 2020: Kyla began recording interviews with cool lawyers and learning how to edit podcast audio.
